T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More)


T.E.A.M. is a program consisting of three trainings over three years for high-potential union leaders.

This training is an important part of PSE’s continuing investment in YOU. Through role-playing, self-assessment tests, and other training scenarios, you’ll explore leadership roles as strategist, communicator, mentor, and T.E.A.M. member.

To help you prepare, we’ve put together this quick reference guide so you’re ready for a successful event.

Rooming List
Please check your email for your roommate assignment.

We understand that sharing a room is not within everyone’s comfort zone, however, hotel room limitations do exist. Your roommate requests were considered, but cancellations and other requests may have superseded your assignment. If you did not get the roommate you requested you can make arrangements amongst yourselves to switch rooms in an honorary manner without going through the hotel or PSE. Please be mindful of others’ answers; if your request is not accepted know that no means no.

All accommodations have been made for you to attend this event, we ask that if you have to cancel you contact the hotel 24 hours PRIOR to your arrival. Please call 1.800.733.5466. Failure to contact the hotel will result in a charge for one night’s stay to your chapter.

What to Pack
Attire is casual for the entire conference; we do recommend you dress in layers as temperatures in meeting rooms can vary.

Wi-Fi at the Red Lion
Wi-Fi will be provided in all areas of the conference; the password will be provided when you arrive.

Lunch on Friday
Will not be provided, you are on your own for lunch on Friday. The Red Lion Pasco has a dining area; Seasons Restaurant (Breakfast 6:00 am-10:00 am; Prime Rib Buffet Lunch 11:30 am – 1:30 pm).

A Roasters Coffee hut is located in the parking lot of the hotel.

Stuff the Bus
Help us Stuff the Bus with non-perishable snacks, personal hygiene supplies, shoes, & cash donations. Items collected will be delivered to Communities in Schools of Benton/Franklin, which serves students in 18 public schools in Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, and Prosser.

Emergency Relief Committee (ERF)
PSE Takes Care of Working Families! Donate to the Emergency Relief Fund and help hardworking school employees in need.

After dinner, the evening is on your own – The Red Lion’s Grizzly Bar Lounge has DJ entertainment and dancing, pool tables, and is open until 2:00 am Saturday night. There is also Bin No. 20 Wine Bar & Restaurant open till 10:00 pm.

The TEAM I experience will expand your knowledge of PSE to include: the departments that support you and strategies to help you be an effective leader in your chapter and a powerful member. We will cover the history of PSE, team building, important aspects of your contract and bylaws, how to run an effective chapter meeting, as well as welcoming our newest members into the PSE Family.

Before we learn about the grievance process, we will discover your conflict style. This will certainly help out when you handle grievances at your job and maybe even your personal life. Come ready to dive right into the grievance process! Your trainers plan to bring you through the initial steps of the grievance process, so you are comfortable to assist in your own chapter. Be prepared to have fun, learn and laugh at the TEAM II training.

You will experience how to read and understand an employer’s budget in preparation for bargaining and gain experience and insight into insurance and benefits. Followed by an in-depth walk through the bargaining process from start to finish.
