Every day, bus drivers, paraeducators, secretaries, custodians, cooks, security guards, health and library technicians, playground supervisors and many other unsung heroes help our schools and students to succeed. They are important members of the team!
PSE has partnered with Washington State Employees Credit Union and regional radio stations — STAR 101.5 FM Seattle, 92.9 ZZU FM Spokane and 100.9 Cherry FM Yakima — to honor Washington schools’ support staff.

As the office and lunch aid, Adba Dar has frequently stepped in to make sure a child who forgot lunch money can have a hot meal. And during the end-of-the-year trip, she has paid for students who can’t cover the cost of the annual field trip. She used her time to get to know the kids and volunteers to speak about Kashmir and her culture, giving students a chance to explore another country.

Christopher Gange returned as a paraeducator to his school district after graduating in 2005. Even during a family emergency, he continued to check in on his students. He has taken on a few YMCA children, which has expended his day to 12 hours. He has a heart of gold.
