Classified School Employee Apprenticeship Program

New Apprenticeship Program Training Available

PSE has been involved in the Washington Public School Classified Employees Apprenticeship program since its inception in 1987. The program has grown from three original job occupations to 28 today. The newest programs are the three-tiered School Computer Technician and School Health Technician.

What is apprenticeship?Simply put, apprenticeship is a structured, paid, on-the-job training program combined with classroom instruction-all administered by a specific set of standards. New paraeducator apprentices normally enroll in one of two programs: Instructional Assistant or Educational Paraprofessional. Individuals who complete the two programs can receive a transferable Associate of Arts (AA) degree.

PSE apprenticeship programs are currently operating in Auburn, Castle Rock, Eastmont, Franklin Pierce, Granite Falls, Kelso, Monroe, Mount Vernon, Mukilteo, Naselle/Grays River, Newport, Oak Harbor, Orting, Puyallup, Rainier, Sedro-Woolley, Stanwood/Camano, Tahoma, Toledo, Toutle Lake, and White River school districts.
